Last Thursday was my last day at the office, and until then I never knew how many mean-spirited people I worked with. As soon as they found out I was leaving, my coworkers did everything they could to make it hard for me.

They treated me to special lunches all week long. They took time away from their families to join me for a send-off party. And at that party, they filled me up with compliments, kind wishes, and grain alcohol. Heartless.

Okay, so my former coworkers are awesome. But they weren’t the only ones from work who gave me that kind of treatment — my vendors have all been great, too. For example, my team worked with our friends Brian and Tom at Fender to hook me up with an awesome acoustic-electric ukulele as a going-away present. I will play the hell out of it, I promise.

Thanks again to everyone for all your support, whatever I did to deserve it. I am a lucky man.

  1. I must’ve been rather non-/un-/dis- photogenic that evening. Considering the fact that the two shots you have of me show 1) my entire back turned, and 2) you giving me a ‘dry’ willy. If those two were my best side? Wow.

P.S.: Nice Pergo wallpaper. You should use it as a detail in a short story.

  2. I, on the other hand, seem to be in most of the pictures. My arm, my hair, my feet….
